Description

Come on this private day tour visiting one of the more beautiful places in southern Lisbon surroundings, around the verdant Arrábida Hills, a place between the Atlantic coast and the rustic landscapes of vineyards and olive groves.

Explore the stunning views from the Christ the King Statue, visit the medieval castle of Palmela, the bustling fish market of Setúbal (closed Monday) and a 17th century Fort located on the heights of Arrábida mountain, facing the ocean. Admire the breathtaking views from the ridge of Arrábida hills and feel like in a plane, spotting the blue horizon.

In a local winery where wine combine with art, admire an art exhibition and learn why the Gregorian Chant listened in the cellar is aimed to the wine not to the visitors. On the walls you'll be surprised by a remarkable sample of Azulejo tiles from the 16th to the 20th century.

The visit ends with a tasting of 3 wines, a white, a red and a Moscatel (just for the adults).

Leave Lisbon behind and head out in our Van or Suv to the other side of the Tagus River, crossing the 25 Abril bridge towards the Christ the King monument, whose height embraces Lisbon from 225 m above the sea level. Here prepare your camera to capture the magnificent views of Lisbon and surroundings.

We continue our trip in a relaxed way to Azeitão, ancient village characterized by its vineyards and olive yards. Here we will visit a well-known winery where art and wine are the same passion of the owner. We visit the art collection and then we taste a selection of fine wines, including the famous "Moscatel de Setúbal" (the cost of the visit and the tasting is included).

Leaving Azeitão we head the to the ridge top of Arrábida Natural Park, where the breathtaking views over the ocean will make you feel just like in a plane, facing the vast horizon of the immensity of blue clear waters and unending views of land along the Alentejo's coast.

Leaving the green natural area of Arrábida we go down to the sea level on the way to Setúbal, a big port city that never lost its bustling fishing activity. Here we visit the Livramento Market (Closed on Monday) and get some time to have lunch.

After visiting the fishing port of Setúbal and its multicolored boats scenery, we will go up to the St.Philip Fort facing the ocean.

Returning to Lisbon we have yet time to visit the medieval Castle of Palmela and talk about its history.
